ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (BLOOM) — After nearly a year of anticipation, Cheeky’s, a casual raw bar and chicken shack from Tampa restaurateur Nate Siegel, is finally preparing to open its doors on Central Avenue.
The new concept, located at 2823 Central Ave., is expected to debut within the next two months. Siegel, who also owns Willa’s in Tampa’s North Hyde Park, says he hopes to create a similarly welcoming, neighborhood-focused experience in St. Pete.
Designed to be family-friendly and approachable, Cheeky’s blends classic coastal food with comfort food. The raw bar will highlight oysters sourced from the Indian River Lagoon near Cape Canaveral, as well as from Nantucket, Chesapeake Bay and other East Coast regions.
The menu will also include fried chicken, burgers, clams and lobster, offering a laid-back “raw bar meets chicken shack” vibe aimed at locals rather than tourists.
Pending final city approval, Cheeky’s will also debut an expansive outdoor patio shortly after opening. The patio will be dog-friendly and is expected to become a prime destination for happy hour gatherings. Plans include frozen and classic cocktails, cold local beers, a curated list of natural wines, and spirit-free refreshments.
Cheeky’s features mural work by local artist Leo Gomez, further rooting the space in the creative spirit of the Grand Central District.
