ORLANDO, Fla. (BLOOM) – Universal Orlando Resort is giving theme park fans a first taste of its most ambitious expansion yet, hitting the road this spring with an immersive, multi-city tour ahead of the official opening of Universal Epic Universe on May 22, 2025.
Dubbed the National Epic Universe Portal Tour, the experience will roll through Atlanta, New York City, Philadelphia and Chicago, offering fans a larger-than-life preview of the resort’s highly anticipated fourth theme park.
At the center of the tour is Chronos – a towering 30-foot-tall portal modeled after the actual entrance to Epic Universe. The structure serves as the visual and symbolic gateway into the park’s five themed worlds: Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Dark Universe.
Visitors will be able to snap photos next to the portal, enter a sweepstakes to win a trip to Universal Orlando, and return at night for a dazzling light and music show that brings the magic to life.
Tour Dates and Locations:
- April 11–13: Atlanta, Georgia – Pemberton Place (adjacent to World of Coca-Cola)
- April 23–26: New York, New York – Rockefeller Center
- May 16–18: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Rocky Steps
- June 13–18: Chicago, Illinois – Pioneer Court
The portal experience will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in each city, though times may vary.
Epic Universe is set to redefine theme park immersion, promising more than 50 attractions, shows, restaurants, and shops spread across five fully realized, story-driven lands. The park will join Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay to complete a four-park lineup that cements Universal Orlando as a multi-day destination resort.
In addition to new attractions, the opening will coincide with the debut of Universal Helios Grand Hotel, located within Epic Universe, and neighboring properties Stella Nova Resort and Terra Luna Resort – all co-owned and operated by Loews Hotels.
