TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The four victims killed in a high-speed crash in Ybor City over the weekend were identified in court documents on Monday.
An arrest affidavit for 22-year-old Silas Sampson, accused of leading police on a high speed chase before crashing into a crowded sidewalk, listed the names of the four pedestrians that died from their injuries.
Christina Richards, 25; Lisa Johnson, 41; Sherman Jones, 53; and Marlon Collins, 53 were four of the over a dozen people who were struck by the speeding car. Three of them died at the scene, and one died later at the hospital.
Thirteen more people were injured in the crash, two of which who were taken to local hospitals in critical condition. Authorities have not provided an update on the current conditions of the injured victims, though two were discharged from the hospital over the weekend.
Sampson was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail and is awaiting his pretrial detention hearing, scheduled for Thursday morning.
