TAMPA, Fla, (WFLA) — President Donald Trump sent a letter to the family of Ethan Pritchard, a Florida State University football player who was hospitalized in an early September shooting.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported that Pritchard was dropping off a family member at an apartment complex in Havana when the FSU linebacker was ambushed and shot.
Pritchard was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but remained stable.
According to a post on X by NBC affiliate WESH reporter Stewart Moore, Trump sent Prichard the following letter praising his courage and tenacity, hailing him as an inspiration:
"Melania and I are devastated to learn of your injury. Please know that my Administration will never stop fighting to clean up our streets and ensure law and order."
"Your courage reflects the power of the human spirit, and your tenacity is an inspiration to so many. We hope you find comfort in the love of family and friends and that you will be uplifted by the abiding strength and support of all those around you."
