TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A cruiser on Royal Caribbean's brand new ship, the Star of the Seas, captured a video of a shattered glass panel on one of the ship's upper decks.
The video, taken by "magicpavingandconcrete," showed crew members placing caution tape in front of the broken panel.
Crew members told the cruiser that the heat caused the panel to shatter.

"Day three on Star Of The Sea while sitting on deck 15 I heard a pop. Like a tire popped. It was tempered glass that shattered. It’s only 85 degrees and 10:30 a.m. est. is this a new phenomenon while cruising. Safety is priceless," magicpavingandconcrete posted on TikTok.
The panel was replaced with another piece of glass.

WFLA.com reached out to Royal Caribbean for a statement about the incident.
The ship, which officially debuted on August 16, sets sail from Port Canaveral. It is one of the company's largest ships, capable of holding more than 5,000 guests.
The Star of the Seas is expected to take its maiden voyage on Aug. 31, according to Royal Caribbean.
