ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — From throwing shot puts to throwing foes.
In just three years, Oba Femi has rocketed from a collegiate track and field standout into one of WWE NXT's most dominant champions, and he's hungry for more.
"I'm still the hunter," said Femi. "People get it mistaken because you become Champion and you assume a lot of people are on your tail. I guarantee you none of these guys want to be on my tail because none of these guys want to wrestle me. They're scared, they're not ready, they're not worthy."
Standing at 6-foot-6 and tipping the scales at over 300 lbs, Oba Femi has the size and the skills to become the WWE's next big star. But the Nigeria native wants more than championship belts. He wants to redefine the perception of "big men" in professional wrestling.
"When a lot of people think big man, they think lumbering big man with no brains and all that, who can't cut a promo, but he's there because he looks good. That's not me. I'm against all of that. I am here to subvert expectations. You can be a big man, and talk, and wrestle, and be charasmatic. And that is what Oba Femi brings to the table."
