Tickets now available for community-driven cultural event set in historic Ybor church
TAMPA, Fla. (BLOOM) – A new immersive art experience is bringing a big-city vibe to Tampa this August as Secret Spaces, presented by local nonprofit The Rooted Door, prepares to debut in Ybor City.
Set inside the historic Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, the event series blends live performance, music, dance, and interactive installations. The venue has been reimagined by dozens of Tampa-based creatives, offering a multisensory journey through local history, culture, and art.

The production is powered by a wide range of local and regional partnerships, including support from the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Tampa, Visit Tampa Bay, the Tampa Bay History Center, Henry B. Plant Museum, and the Center for Architecture and Design Tampa Bay.
“We believe that building a thriving city starts with investing in its storytellers,” said Alyse Pask, founder of The Rooted Door. “Every one of our partners shares that belief and their support makes it possible for artists to dream boldly, use space creatively, and invite people to connect in meaningful ways.”
Local businesses and organizations also contributing to the effort include Hotel Haya, Proper House Group, Ash Water Street, J.C. Newman Cigar Co., Roost Home and Garden, Paper Seahorse, Dance Tampa Bay, Artistree Gardens, Brewed Awakening Coffee, Hampton Inn & Suites Ybor City, and Monkey Shoulder Rum.
As part of its sustainability efforts, The Rooted Door has partnered with Artistree Gardens to reduce the event’s environmental impact by offering composting, water refill stations, and minimizing single-use plastics.
Tickets for Secret Spaces are available now at www.therooteddoor.com/secrets. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Center for Architecture and Design Tampa Bay.
