NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing in New Smyrna Beach on Saturday.
A spokesperson with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the aircraft landed around 9:30 a.m. on State Road 44.
According to them, the pilot was the only occupant aboard, and the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said that he was uninjured in the landing.
FAA records showed that the plane, a fixed-wing, single-engine kit plane, was a 2003 Glasair GlaStar that had an active registration through October 2028.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
