RUSKIN, Fla., (WFLA) - On Saturday, a series of free back-to-school health clinics were held in Hillsborough County.
The events are a chance for kids in school to get the medical care they need.
The clinics are held by Project Link and are for students K-12.
During the clinics, students can get all the shots, vaccines, and school physicals they need before summer ends.
Organizers said with things like the measles outbreak, kids need to be up to date.
All of these events are for uninsured families.
"Well, this year, it's particularly important because a lot of families have lost their medical insurance, there is some issues with Medicaid. So, we are seeing families that would normally go to a doctor, but they are now not covered," said Lisa Young, CEO for Project Link.
Parents do need to register their children for a time slot before coming to the clinics. Project Link will be holding 7 of these health clinics during the summer, to register, click here.
