MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An 18-year-old has died after the Shelby County Sheriff's Office says five people were shot outside a house in Cordova Saturday night.
SCSO detectives identified the victim as Corey Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana.
According to social media statements from the University of Mississippi and his former high school, Adams was a freshman on the college's football team.
SCSO responded to a scene on Fern Glade Cove in Cordova at 10:14 p.m.
Deputies say five people were injured in the shooting. When deputies arrived at the intersection of Forest Hill-Irene and Walnut Grove, they stopped a car, finding 18-year-old Corey Adams of New Orleans, Louisiana, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Four other men arrived by personal vehicles to area hospitals in non-critical condition.
