TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — An Adam Sandler look-alike contest was held Friday, drawing more than a dozen contestants, all bearing a striking resemblance to the beloved actor.
Crowds gathered at the Vesuvio Playground in SoHo, where the contest was held.
Thirteen contestants donned their favorite Sandler looks, representing roles like "Happy Gilmore" and "Little Nicky," each making their case as to why they felt they were the best Sandler doppelganger and worthy of taking home the prize — $50 and a jar of pickles.
"People tell me, I wouldn't say every day, but I would say every week, especially when I meet a new person, 'oh by the way, you look like what's his name, you look like Adam Sandler.' That's like, in every relationship, every person that I meet, that is always the first thing," said the contest winner, Jason. "Once we get past that, they get used to the way I look, it doesn't continually come up, but yes, everyone I meet has to tell me that I look like Adam Sandler."
Unfortunately, the real Adam Sandler was not there to help with the judging.
