TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Prepaid is launching two summer incentives to encourage families who want to start saving toward their children’s future.
Families who open a Florida 529 Savings Plan account from May 1 through June 30 will receive a $50 contribution from the Florida Prepaid College Board.
Additionally, partnering with Florida State Parks for the fourth consecutive year, Florida Prepaid will be hosting the Exploring Education Sweepstakes, giving families the chance to win one of ten $1,000 Florida 529 Savings Plan scholarships while exploring Florida’s award-winning state parks through the Junior Ranger program.
Each winner will also receive a Florida State Parks-themed prize pack that includes an inflatable stand-up paddleboard, a hammock and more. Families can enter the sweepstakes through June 30.
The Florida 529 Savings Plan is available exclusively to Florida residents and can be used nationwide to cover qualified education expenses such as tuition, room and board, books and supplies.
