CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA)— This week, the Humane Society of Pinellas announced it will host its 2025 Companions in Action Summer Camp for young animal lovers.
It is a weeklong, hands-on experience designed to inspire future compassionate animal advocates and allow children to make an impactful difference in their community by educating them on proper animal welfare.
The camp will offer empathy-building activities that foster a deeper understanding of the bond humans and animals share. Campers will have the chance to interact with shelter animals and learn responsible pet care through various service projects.
“Whether your child is a natural helper, a future veterinarian, or just curious about animals, this camp is a wonderful opportunity to grow, give back, and connect,” said Peyton Davis, HSP’s marketing manager. “It’s about more than just petting puppies and playing with kittens—it’s about developing compassion and confidence that kids will carry with them for life.”
The camp will be split into two sessions. The first, for ages 8 to 10, will take place July 21-25. The second, for ages 11 to 13, will be July 28-August 1.
The cost is $275 per person.
