PALM COAST, Fla. (WFLA)-- A Saint Augustine man won $1 million from playing the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off, according to the Florida Lottery.
William Evans, 52, received his winning as a one-time payment of $640,000.
The winning ticket was purchased from a Publix in Palm Coast. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
$1,00,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off costs $50 to play. There are two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of just $1 million.
The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50.
Scratch-off games have awarded more than $65.5 billion in prizes, created 2,283 millionaires and generated more than $19.8 billion for the state's Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.
